Georg Sampl trained as a cabinet maker at federal technical school in Hallstatt in Austria's Salzkammergut region and worked as a carpenter in France, Austria and Canada before graduating in industrial design at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna.
Based in Vienna, Georg works on various projects ranging from furniture and product design to research and exhibitions, with a penchant for engineering, production technologies and meticulously thought-out details and systems.
Basis for his working method driven by curiosity and a passion for experimentation are scientific insights merged with a deeply rooted knowledge of traditional crafts.
